East Yorkshire Herb Group September Meeting
Posted by Christine on August 15, 2010
Our inaugural meeting in July was a great success and lots of fun too!
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 22nd September at 7.30pm at West Heslerton Village Hall. This month we’ll be featuring Rosemary and Thyme. We’ll discuss folklore, their medicinal uses both past and present, and also talk about how they can be used in cooking. Dawn has kindly offered to bring along some plants from her nursery for us to have a look at. We’ll also discuss the wild food that is available to harvest from our hedgerows – haws, elderberries, crab-apples, rosehips, sloes – and what to do with it! If you have any recipes that you’d like to share please bring them along. There is a small charge of £2 to cover the cost of the venue and refreshments. Further details and directions can be found at http://www.purplesage.org.uk/EYHG.htm Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
